Paint palettes covered the tables. Bright colors filled the room. Children leaned over their axolotl designs, carefully adding their own creative touches while families shared laughter and conversation.
On June 15, 2026, SoNormal Clothing Co. became a place where art, family, and community came together for a special Father's Day painting event hosted by WUB Hobbies.
For Golden Maple, being part of this creative gathering was a meaningful opportunity to support local artists, encourage young creators, and celebrate the simple joy of making something by hand.

Bringing Families Together Through Creativity
The core of this heartwarming family painting activity was simple yet incredibly meaningful: creating a custom, hand-painted gift for dad.
The theme of the Father's Day painting class revolved around a clever, adorable pun—painting a cute pink axolotl accompanied by the words, "My kids love me alotl!"
For the children participating in this kids' painting class, the creative process was a true hands-on adventure:

- Choosing bright palettes: The children loved mixing pinks, blues, and greens on their canvases, experimenting to find the perfect shades for their characters.
- Personalizing the design: Every child put their own spin on the axolotl, giving their painted characters unique eyes, playful smiles, and creative expressions.
- From canvas to t-shirt: Once finished, their custom artwork was transferred onto high-quality t-shirts for their dads to wear proudly.
These types of thoughtful, creative family activities do more than just produce a physical gift. They turn an ordinary evening into a lasting milestone that families will cherish for years to come.
Every Painting Starts with the Right Tools
Artistic discovery is a wonderful journey for children, but it can sometimes be hindered when their tools do not cooperate. Stiff bristles, shedding hairs, or poor paint retention can easily frustrate a child who is trying their best to capture the delicate details of their design.
Understanding this, we at Golden Maple were incredibly pleased to offer a small contribution through a humble community art sponsorship, donating 10 sets of our beginner paint brushes to support the class:

- Easy to control: We specifically design our paint brushes for beginners to be lightweight and easy for small hands to guide smoothly across the canvas.
- Focus on joy: Providing high-quality, reliable art supplies for kids ensures that their attention remains fully on the joy of creating rather than the frustration of poor tools.
- Confidence builder: Seeing the children confidently paint their axolotls and take pride in their progress was the greatest reward we could have asked for.
While the right tools do not make the artist, we believe they help clear the path so that a child's imagination can run completely free.
More Than Just a Painting Class
As the paintings began to dry, many families stayed a little longer.
Parents admired the colorful axolotls their children had created, compared designs with other families, and stopped for photos before heading home. Conversations continued around the tables as children proudly pointed out their favorite details and explained the stories behind their artwork.

Those moments were just as meaningful as the paintings themselves.
For many families, the workshop wasn't only about making a Father's Day gift. It was a chance to spend an evening creating something together—sharing ideas, encouraging one another, and leaving with memories that would last long after the paint had dried.
