I am an artist who has used watercolor a lot over time. Finding new sets that impress me is not that easy anymore. i had to try this kit and I am so glad that I did.

BOX
This comes in a wonderful gift box. There is a velum paper inside and sealed with a sticker. It is very classy looking.

PAINTBRUSHES
Although there are only round brushes in this kit, I found that they allowed me to play with the paints in a lot of different ways. If this is your only resource, you can make it work for everything except washes.

PAPER
The paper is nice quality. I did a set of swatches and blending/mixing in a bar fashion on the paper. It really does showcase the paints well.

WATER BUCKET
This is a great part of the kit. It is easy to pack and carry and expands to a really nice size. The brushes stay put on the top of it and I found it fantastic to use.

PALETTE
The palette that comes with it is a bit clumsy as it is meant for paints to already be on it, but honestly it is nice to have it and I like it well enough. The paints mix really well.

PAINT PALETTE
This is a very unique set up for the paints. They fold out like a paint swatch sample kit for house painters. The colors are vibrant and there is some granulation to a few colors which I LOVE. When done using the paints, they dry up fast enough to put away pretty soon after use. I would not fold them back wet, because you are asking for mold to set in.

TAPE
Most kits don't come with tape, but this one does and it is a fantastic beginners tool to have for the edges and playing around with.

WATERBRUSH
To be honest, I prefer to use the sable brushes over the waterbrush. I get a much nicer effect when using the sable brushes and I prefer them . This is handy to take on the road, however if you can not set up water.

THE BOTTOM LINE
This is a fantastic kit. I am an experienced painter and I love it, but I think that any beginner would do well with this too.

MY RATING
FIVE STARS. This is worth taking a look at. It is a nice set with paints that don't look cheap or chalky at all. I really appreciate the separation of some of the colors in use too- I am a texture lover.
